Meet the Crew

Kip Wells

Raised in Scotland, Kip’s love for adventure began in the mountains, woods, and beaches of his childhood. His service in the Royal Air Force has taken him around the world and strengthened his resilience in high-pressure environments — qualities he brings to the Atlantic.

After completing 5 marathons in 5 days, he set his sights on the World’s Toughest Row, a challenge that has inspired him for years. Sharing the journey with a friend of 20+ years makes it even more meaningful. Kip is proud to represent the Jon Egging Trust and excited for the challenge ahead.

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”

Chris Ambler

Born in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, he grew up chasing adventure — often climbing anything he could just to jump off it. That fearless spirit carried into his global career in Oil & Gas, where he has spent years working in remote, demanding environments.

A lifelong advocate for fitness and mental resilience, he is driven by the challenge of stepping far outside his comfort zone. The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge will push him 3,000 miles beyond it, and he’s energized by what lies ahead. He is also a passionate speaker and looks forward to supporting partners throughout the journey.

“You can’t beat someone that doesn’t quit.”
